Do you think that Kelly initially didn't want to use Demarco Murray the way he's using him? When you look at these diagonal runs, they always seem to head toward what was the strength of our offensive line or toward Peters or Lane Johnson. I think Kelly maybe saw that these interior linemen are dogsh*t and has changed it up to try to do something. That something just doesn't work because Murray is a "north-south runner."Comment

I think he never intended to use Murray in a pure north-south scheme. He assumed that Murray could adapt and use his running talent as Chip saw fit. Unfortunately Murray seems to be too inflexible, and a bit of a head case on top of it all. We can fault Murray, Chip, or both. They probably share the blame.Comment

What makes no sense to me is that Chip thinks players are interchangeable, yet he breaks the bank on an RB, the most interchangeable position in football. If system were what really mattered, we would have been fine with Mathews, Polk, and Sproles getting more carries. According to Herremans Chip thought OL and QB were what mattered, and that he could find guys at other positions. If he had stuck to that school of thought he could have paid some OL. You can't really find a QB in free agency, but he could have given Bradford someone to throw to with Maclin.Comment
