  • 2016 Olympics in Brazil could be a disaster

    for many reasons.

    Polluted water, Zika virus, etc.

Starting to look like the corrupt IOC made a big mistake... just like the corrupt FIFA did with Quatar.

Used to go there on business and knew it would be a disaster. The pollution and crime is unbelievable. The economy had a short run of growth and is now a disaster. Very well could need a plan B.

....talking about how polluted the water is for the boating competition. Animal carcasses, sewage, tons of junk, almost a guarantee for infection.

The now "removed" chairman attempted to have the games relocated to cleaner waters but was silenced and dismissed.

I've never been there but I have heard from many people who have been that the infrastructure there is not very good. It's like the infrastructure there is not anyway near to support the density of population.

Other South American cities outside of Brazil are better balanced to support their populations I don't think any of them could handle the Olympics though.

Population in Brazil is massive... I think too many people had $$$ in their mind. Chicago or Madrid would look good now. Tokyo would as well but I don't know how they are doing after the nuke disaster.

Yup. He was shitcanned for speaking up.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Can't blame them for the zika virus

But that alone is rapidly spinning out of control. Is there any way they could move it this late in the game?

You dont think zika is related to mosquitoes living, eating and breeding in contaminated water?

The airports in São Paulo and Rio are worse than anywhere else I have traveled. The boarding process in Rio is total chaos with flights sharing the same gates. My Delta flight shared a gate with Angola air and 50 percent of the people got on the wrong plane. It took forever to sort it out. The airports are 30 miles outside the city but it take three hours of travel time because the highways are so bad.

contaminated water has nothing to do with it
