  • Jason Peters

I know it's been stated a million times that he's staying at his current cap number for the year, but I can't see how that's possible. Thanks to all of the contracts the birds have handed out the past two years, there are only a handle of players that can be used to generate cap space - and Peters is at the top of the list.

I can't see how they can go into the season with him taking up $11+M of cap room with just a 2M dead money hit.

Thye either need to negotiate an extension to convert some salary to bonus to spread the hit out or trade him.

With all of the OL they have - perhaps the plan is to trade him on draft day and move Lane Johnson to LT.

That said, can't imagine any other team will pay his base salary at his age and give up a draft pick.

They are fucked with the cap - even if they manage to find somebody to take Chase off their hands.

Everyone they brought in is a guard. After cutting Matthews, Brooks, and trading Kendricks/Kelce (?) they'll be good for this year and next, no?

JP deserves every penny of that contract and he still has a lot of value to this team....

I'm suggesting an extension that gives him the same money, but spreads it over two seasons, with the understanding that they will cut him next year.

Brooks is uncuttable if that website is correct. They need to find somebody to take Chase off our hands, even if we have to absorb a few million of his base.

Matthews needs to go of course, but they still are very tight.

I cant believe he did not go to the Eagles and restructure himself, I mean that is a team player who wants to win a championship. They could clear almost 8 million restructuring his deal. That goes a long way.

Yes. Because they're only a player or two away

from winning a wild card game.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

He refused to renegotiate his contract just before FA started.
