Saw the goalie. Didn't watch another one.

Phils are in a much better place than the Flyers.

Folk will be thrilled if Phils have a .500 season

They still are making some bone head plays, but love the bats are alive. Grand slam was awesome. I just want to the NATS to lose every day!!!!
I wish Tommy Joeseph could start wacking the ball over the fence!

If they replaced Rupp and Joseph they would get more production.

I nearly threw a fucking beer at the television when the Marlins got back to back hits because Rupp kept calling for fastballs with two outs in the 9th on 1-2 counts, instead of calling for the motherfucking split.

Which the fucking nitwit finally called for a strikeout after a meeting on the mound and Neris got ahead on the next batter.

I mean fuck ... how do you not call offspeed out of the zone when you're 1-2 on a guy off fastballs and Neris has a split that's an out pitch?

He's still got some pop, but now that his pitch selection (offensively) is struggling and his ever-mediocre game calling is slipping, he's having an actual negative effect on the team overall.

There's a reason this team was trying to keep AJ Ellis. i wouldn't be shocked to see Klentak and co go shopping for a catcher for half a season.

I read this, which apparently sheds some light on the topic:

                    http://m.mlb.com/news/article/226686...option-season/

But it might be a while before Alfaro is promoted, even if he keeps hitting well. Alfaro, 23, is in his final option year, meaning beginning next season, the Phillies cannot send him to the Minor Leagues without risking losing him.

Because of that, the Phillies might prefer to have Alfaro play regularly at Triple-A, in preparation for what could be a prominent role in 2018. Obviously, that does not apply come September, when rosters expand or if there is an injury to Cameron Rupp (.657 OPS in 52 plate appearances) or Andrew Knapp (.594 OPS in 20 plate appearances).

Prominent role in 2018 sounds good. Makes that half year rental you mentioned make sense.
