WTF? I didn't realize that the NL had implemented the DH this off-season.

I think this means they are acquiring Machado.

I am thinking the package will be Sixto, Crawford, and the O's pick of Altherr or Williams.

That...or they are trading a similar package (no Crawford though) for Grienke.

This is the Phillies version of Trevor Booker.

I think the Machado rumors are bluster, although I think the O's management is seriously talking to McFail (c).

I do think a package for a pitcher, possibly grienke, is more likely.

They might be selling high on Hoskins. Probably another move coming.

Are you saying they would consider trading Hoskins?

Santana isn't bad, c'mon. Consistent high OBP which this team needs. It's probably too much money, but their payroll is so low it doesn't really matter. They did lose a 2nd round pick.

If this is the last move they make, it doesn't really make sense. Let's see how it shakes out.

Yes, I do. Hoskins is a butcher in the OF and Santana can't play anywhere but 1B.

They didn't need to bring him in at all. They were fine where they were at. This team played better the second half of the season with the young guys. They needed to keep it going with bringing up the other pieces. They can make these types of moves next year.

I'm ruling out Greinke since he doesn't have the best history with the guy they just brought back. Maybe they can work it out but I'm betting against it.

I would be shocked if Hoskins was moved. He's practically untouchable at this point. If Hoskins can't play outfield, he goes to first. That makes this move even more questionable.
