  • Jeff Kerr (Eagles beat writer) of 247 sports speculates

The Rams are sitting all of their regulars this week in order to lose and drop down to the 4 seed in order to play the Eagles in the divisional round.

Gary Klein of the LA Times says the same thing. “It would be advantageous for the Rams to be the No 4 seed in order to play the Eagles in Philly, a team that beat the Rams in LA, but who now have to depend on backup Nick Foles at QB.”

    Left unsaid are 2 things—

    1. The Rams have to win their first playoff game in order to advance. They would play either Carolina or New Orleans both with playoff experience QBs.

    2. Foles was actually responsible for driving the Eagles to both the FGs that eventually won the game.

Also left unsaid is that if the #6 seed beats the #3 seed that the Rams will still face off against Minnesota in the divisional round.

Rams clinched their division and have little to gain winning the final game....rest your team, prevent injuries and prepare for post season playing whoever.

Sounds just like you titled it .....speculation.

Sounds like pure click bait to me.

In any case I'd imagine the Rams would rather play in the temperature controlled dome in Minnesota. Doubt they have a preference for the Eagles over the Vikes. Foles may suck but Case Keenum is no world beater either.

The Rams would have won that game if Foles started. The next time around they would just run Gurley more.
