UCF won their conference and beat Auburn. Did Bama?

That conference blows is why they were ranked #12 despite being undefeated. I think SMU and Navy were their best teams on the scheldule

Shouldn't matter other than in a tie breaking scenario. Losses should mean something. The fact that they beat Auburn proves that they deserved a spot in the CFP.

So you are judging this on one game ??? UCF would loose at least 2 to 3 games on a SEC schedule lets quit being stupid here.

Who should not have been in the CFP so that UCF could be?

admits the system is flawed and thus not a true champion. If we accept that Bama or Georgia is the best team in college (whoever wins), what does that make UCF, which beat Auburn, which beat both teams.

Alabama was the team that if you were to take out anyone, would be the team that doesn't go. Can't win your division in your conference, shouldn't get rewarded for it. They are probably the best team in college fb, but the best team in sports often doesn't win the championship.

Do you think UCF played the same Auburn team it would have played knowing a national title was on the line

There really is nothing new here. Unless DIV IA goes to a IAA playoff bracket these discussions will happen every year. I admit that I'm biased because I'm a UGA fan, but they split with Auburn and won the game that mattered. My organization is based in Orlando and chock full of UCF fans. When i get back in to the office after this "bomb cyclone" I'll have to chat with them.

That was UCF's super bowl. For Auburn it was a vacation and some free swag and a football game.

UCF won the game fair and square, but they aren't one of the top 4 teams in football. I'm surprised people are even debating that to be honest.

I encourage everyone to watch the real sanctioned NCAA DIV I College Football Championship Final this Saturday at Noon when defending champs JMU face off against perennial contender North Dakota State.

I watched more college this year than almost ever before and that UCF squad was at least as good as oklahoma and probably has a better defense (duh).

Sure they missed out on the ultimate goal of making the CFP but the Auburn players on this team weren't there the last time Auburn went to a national championship. It was still a NY6 bowl.
