He's since retracted his story and said the Eagles just offered to sign him if he wasn't drafted. The thing is that EVERY team does the same thing--6th and 7th round, they have a list and they contact the potential UDFAs to offer them a contract. Plus, Florio is trying to sensationalize it--can you actually think that with Gamble, Rosenhaus, and at least three members of the Eagles coaching staff who have been in the NFL for a while ,they'd actually doi something like that??? Plus, I'm pretty sure that they fax the offer over with a time stamp on it, and no offersw become final until the 1st business day following the draft--which was Monday.
