Good call with Brees, bad call with Foles. Brees isn't a running QB by any means, but he is "mobile."

Foles is so lumbering and uncoordinated, the entire Cardinals' D would have been behind the line by the time Nicky got his momentum moving forward.

I agree with you preferring a run with polk, but I would think a sneak would be high-percentage as well. Foles is loppy, but I think he could fall forward for a few inches.

Goal line runs are about 90 percent interior O line and 10 percent who runs the ball. Joe Montana can still run a QB sneak behind a good O line. Molk as your center makes that play iffy even if Cam Newton was your QB.
