        Or create some similar sounding word. Kind of like they do with things like Froot Loops.

          Call it Cinco de Mayo and make the rest of the label in Spanish. Mayonnaise is Mahonesa in Spanish. FDA could not complain.

            I bet FDA is more concerned with nutritional mislabeling

            And health claims than the "not really mayonnaise" issue. I wonder if they would have even sent a letter if the first two problems were addressed.
