    Should all be shitcanned immediately.

    Fire them ?

Why ? they did their job and reported the leaks that were fed to them

Eagles got what they wanted which was:

They wanted to test Djax and see how he responds
They wanted him to think about how much he'd miss the team
They wanted him to know he's on thin ice
They wanted him to not bitch about his contract
They wanted him to not be a distraction
They wanted him to consider life with another team
They wanted to know how the rest of the league valued him

All of that and more was accomplished and maybe the reporters were played, same as they always are. They go into frenzy mode to see who can report it fastest , nobody cares about the Truth- ya just gotta be first to stir the shit and make sure the byline spells your name/twitter handle right

Perhaps the Eagles Tail wagged the Media Dog for their own purposes...who knows.

The thought that this was some sort of psychological warfare has crossed my mind. Maybe that's what it was. Or maybe the Eagles were actually shopping Jackson and didn't get an offer they liked. Or maybe both.

Maybe this is just vintage Myths McLane. Think of all the stories he peddled on this topic. Remember, this is the same clown who reported that the Eagles didn't place a priority on resigning Riley Cooper just days before he reported the Riley Cooper contract extension.

McLane has bullshit confidential sources but he has one of the biggest pulpits at philly.com. The guy is a sham who stirred the pot that almost ran D Jack outta town, plain and simple.

You can see how annoyed Chip Kelly is with his bush league style. I don't see how having a Reporter who is wrong more than he is right helps the fans or anyone else.

          Chip Kelly Is NOT Stupid

The fact that DJax had his best season in Chip's offense should have been a clue that somebody was putting forth incorrect information.

It's one of the easiest ways to get a story when you don't have anything else -- make up something, credit "anonymous sources" and then you present it to somebody who can confirm or deny.

Either way you have a story. It's called fishing.

            Seriously doubt it.

What is clear, to me at least, is that the one coach in the NFL that Kelly admires is Bill Belichick. Belichick does not and will not engage in reporter tricks designed to get him to talk candidly about anything. While Kelly has a caustic, humorous personality in dealing with the press, the result is the same. They say nothing. They don't confirm or deny anything and only talk about what the team wants to talk about, not what the press wants to talk about.

And they sure as he'll do not respond to rumors.

I still say the whole thing was made up by an amateurish blogger named jimmy Kempski. After that, a shitstorm happened in the new media landscape where hits and clicks matter more than writing craft.

                      He doesn't care.

He still has his Riley Cooper plush penis pillow that drops the N-bomb when he squeezes the head.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Nope. It was Mosher who asked Desean a direct question at his locker about his contract. That turned into another shitstorm myth that became reality claiming Desean was whining about wanting more money when the question and answer was about restructuring to make more of it guaranteed.

Related but different. Actually, it's exactly the same scenario that TO talked about back in 2005, but then it was TO who brought it up, not a reporter as was the case with Jackson.

not that part about eyeballs being more important that accuracy these days...you are ten thousand percent on target with that. And the biz has become so competitive this is happening all the time...and not just in sports. The New York Times has chased down Drudge Reports that turned out to be hogwash. Nature of the instantaneous beast these days.

But Kelly says plenty. at least compared to Reid. He is good at not giving up anything he wants to protect but giving something. He acvtually enjoys bantering with the reporters. Although he speaks a lot faster and has more personality, he reminds me of Larry Brown that way. Belicheat does not even pretend to give reporters anything or even acknowledge they have a job to do.
