        it is hard to sit through all the ads, but that's nothing new. here's an article from 1991:

        games averaged 2:58 then. now they average 3:05. a negligible difference really. i think that the decline in ratings just means that the NFL has reached the end of its unsustainable growth. first the rise of internet and sunday ticket availability made it easier to follow the NFL. smart phones made it even easier. but the NFL can't keep gaining popularity at the rate that commanded TV contracts which afforded 20 million a year for players like joe flacco.

        honestly i hope popularity falls maybe a little more then levels off. it would be great if people stopped talking to me about their fantasy teams, and stopped telling me opinions that they got from NFL live.
