  • Cap guys...

Does this team even have enough cap space to extend Cox? Especially given his cap # this season, an extension would seem impossible without some cuts and/or ammended contracts of other players. Correct?

I think there's a rule where you can utilize some cap space this season to extend guys if it's done before a certain week. Not sure how that's split up or decided or whatever.

If this is true, I'm shocked there's 8 mil left...even after the rookie (and #2 overall) contracts.

you can spread a signing bonus over the length of the contract and schedule roster bonuses throughout
