  • HBO just put a lot of old shows on Amazon Prime

This makes that $20 price increase easier to take, although for me even with the price hike Prime was a good deal just for shipping. I buy a lot of household stuff from Amazon simply because prices are so high in NYC and it's a pain to get stuff to my apartment.

If you live in a city, Prime is a lifesaver -- avoid the crowds, everything is tax free (for now, for most states, anyway), heavy furniture delivered to your doorstep. I rarely use the video steam since I prefer Netflix, and still well worth $99.

Damn, I didn't know they raised it by $20. Oh well, it will still be worth it. I use the shit out of prime shipping. I tend to use prime streaming more than netflix lately as well. They stole all 8 seasons of "24" out from under Netflix with the big return coming up next month.

Saw this earlier.. Does this mean they will have live streaming at some point?

I think we are on the brink of a la carte station subscriptions, Comedy Central already does it... hopefully they all will sooner than later

And their original programming is getting better, too. They have a new Chris Carter (x-files) series going on. Also a new Jill Soloway (6 feet under) series.
