And if you do, how do you explain that McNabb had a 101.8 passer rating the last seven games and a completion percentage of 65.0%?
And it is hard to explain, what changed? Did we run more, change the play calling? I can't remember off hand...

So lets use that year, which is he, the player in the first or second half of the year?

both, that's the only problem i have with him, he's inconsistent. I don't disagree with you that he is the best the eagles have ever had at the position. But he just comes up small when he's needed most. you just never know what you're getting with him

Can't deny that, he and FF both come up very small when it really matters.

I wish I could say 5 is the problem, so take him out and it will all be fixed, but we all know that is not the case!

That was the year of the three-headed monster with Duce, Buckhalter and Westbrook. And believe it or not, the offense nearly scored as many points that season than they did a year later with TO and the whole aerial attack.

This is the exact conclusion I've come to about McNabb. As much as he's done for the team, I'm kind of done with seeing Mr. Hyde every January.

Wasn't that the year that our O line was just man handling people?

Maybe they will draft a big back this year! Pfft...

I hold him accountable for years that he wasn't out there doing it alone, 04, 08, and 09.
Thats reids fault. He obviously drafted the best qb of 1999, he just didn't fit the scheme. Maybe it was too early to tell that mcnabb couldn't win a championship on this level even in the "perfect situation". Sorry but that doesn't absolve mcnabb from coming up short in big games.

You managed to take a reggie wayne thread and turn it into a "Everyone hates mcnabb and its not his fault" thread, again.

I know you could probably give two shits about it, but for what it's worth, i appreciate your perspective. I consider you a "fluffer" but your ideas are within reason. I think we can all agree on one thing, something has to change

And thanks, I appreciate you saying that, and yes I totally agree, it has to change, the Philadelphia Eagles are the exact definition of insanity!

And honestly I quit smoking, 29 days now, and I just have a feeling that the Eagles would be the only thing that would get me back on smoking!!

yo congrats dude. I'm coming up on a year. I've cheated a few times, but I've been able to do it without having an urge to buy a pack, so if you break down and have one, don't think it means you've fallen off the horse. It gets easier, just hang tough.

More weapons!

Big back!

Defense!

This cycle is pretty grueling.

This goes back to what I have a problem with. McNabb in his prime Very realisticly could have won a championship with the perfect situation. Hell even just the right situation. The first he was put into it was 2004 and we came close. Had he had another year in his prime with a good WR who knows. Do I think he could still win one? Yeah possibly on the right team... Eagles arent the right team so move him and start looking for our next QB.

Do you think the defense is Super bowl caliber?

Like I have said, this doesn't change my feelings about wanting him to be moved, it is not going to change, and I have accepted that. But I still won't look back over this decade and blame our lack of a SB all on 5.
Did great in 2008? That was an up and down year as well. He got benched mid-season because he sucked. That's the whole issue - inconsistency. You never know when the wheels are going to come off.

Thanks bro, I was just saying on Saturday, when I was stuck in 2+ ft of snow that I wished they sold packs of 2 cigs, but then the urge passed.

Only when I drink do I really want to smoke, so me and my girl went on 30 days sobriety after the playoff game, it is amazing how many social things involve drinking, but I think that is what really help me quit smoking, taking away the avenue in which I justified smoking!

Congrats on over a year!!
