Pine Barrens episode was one of my favorites. Chris and Paulie were gold.

The Shield isn't a pimple on the ass of The Wire ... which is, without a doubt, the best motherfucking cop show in the history of television ... and if it doesn't beat The Sopranos for best drama, it's by a nose.

The first two seasons of Oz were killer ... then it kind of faded.

Even without a wrap up, Deadwood is in the conversation.

It's def great but only 3 seasons puts it behind those 3 for me for sure.

Al Sweregen is best character in history though IMHO.

Agreed. It got all kinds of stupid.

THe walking dead has tremendous top 5 potential but we will see how season 4 goes.

Yeah, I know, but it was so fucking good.

I've posted this before ... my three favorite tv characters of all time are Al Swearingen, Omar and Eric Cartman.

Edited to add: I guess I should go four and add Paulie Walnuts.

Was Oz the first HBO television series? I can't remember anything that would of came before.

First big drama, but Larry Sanders and Sex In The City had HBO on the map with it's own programming before it.

Oz is a soap opera. Sopranos will be studied in film schools for years to come.
