According to the Mavs press release, they acquired Ledo from the Sixers, so the Hawks being part of it was incorrect. The Mavs traded the Nets 2014 2nd to the Sixers.

At least that is what I got from this link

So we just gave Wolters/Ledo away? The Nets 2nd rounder next year will suck, given that they just created a short-term powerhouse roster.

Pretty much. Ended up trading wolters for 2 2nds. One from the bucks and one from the nets. Maybe they can make a package to move up next year or something.

For all intents and purpose's the start of Basketball

in Philadelphia was reborn last night. Kazemi, Willams and Noel on their own will change how the Sixer's play for the next 5 years. Kazemi is a Forward off of the bench and a rebounder but will struggle with the bigger men in the NBA. He was highly recruited out of high school but a value at 54 in the second round. Willams is a 6-6 Guard who will replace Holiday in the line up and is not a scorer but a facilitator which leads me to ask where are the points going to come from next season?

The trade to move Holiday to NO for Noel who was the Number 1 rated pick up to the draft last night, even with the ACL issue and not going to be ready till some time after December next season. Then he started his mini drop and Hinkie pulled the trigger and made the deal. and several afterwards the dust still has not settled.

What these moves did was give the 76ers the chance to be competitive in 2015 not next season nor the following. But they are going to have 2 high number 1 picks next year and enough cap space to be players in FA in 14.

We all wanted the Sixers to blow this up and they did that kudos for that.

OK -- Maybe I Was A Bit Hasty (me -- hasty? pshaw)

But can somebody PLEASE explain to me what this franchise has against big men with two healthy knees?

Didn't they learn their lesson with Bynum?

It certainly would be a welcome change to see them draft or trade for a big man with TWO knees that are pristine so we don't have to wait forever to see him play. Bynum was supposed to be out until December, too. This kid's younger. Maybe he'll heal quicker and for real this time.

From my mouth to God's ears.

bynum had a history of issues with his. Noel's was a freak thing. they didn't take Greg Oden II.

yes, it sucks it happened, but that does not mean it'll happen again or that he is injury prone.

anybody can get hurt at any given time.

he'll be fine by Jan 2014 and is just 1 year removed from HS. Noel should have a great career.

You know what they say in basketball, KG....

You can't teach height. If this guy can get healthy (more like WHEN because 19 year olds heal overnight), OMG he's a great young talent that could turn into a SUPERSTAR. So you have to keep trying to get one of those. This guy is a defensive animal who can make other teams' big men have fits. Right now, at 19 years old, he can do that.

                    Agreed.

I feel good about being able to feel good about them in like a year.

I did about fall off the couch when ESPN first reported the Sixers were moving their 2014 first to New Orleans. That was a heart-stopper.

Maybe They'll Let Me Take Him On A Few Trips To Captain George's

They gotta put some meat on that boy's bones -- 6-foot-11 and he weighs 209 pounds? There are good sized guards that'll push the kid around!

I mean Munte Bol only weighed nine pounds less than that and he was a blade of grass playing in a the middle of redwoods.

Me too. I couldn't believe it. Funny how flipping that piece of it around changes everything.

My gut reaction was off-base. Holliday is an all-star but cant carry a franchise. You cant compare Noel to Bynum....younger and less miles on the odometer always liked Carter Williams' game.

Now can Brown coach? Well Spoelstra looks like a HOFer when he has the players.

All The More Reason To Bulk Up

Visit Cap'n George's weekly, visit the weight room three times a day -- add some weight and muscle. Even the "roughest" opponents he saw in his brief stay on the college level don't come anywhere close to what he's going to see in the NBA.

Otherwise, the Big Boys are gonna push him around like our youngest granddaughter used to push around her toy baby stroller.
