The guy made a dumb fuck, stupid as hell mistake, and his reputation will be shit for a long time. That being said, I still think he can help this team. Are you telling me that the thought of the Eagles being in the red zone in a formation that has Celek, Casey, Ertz, and Cooper doesn't intrigue you ? Free Riley !!!!

No. Cooper has never been anything great in any aspect at the professional level.

but at 6'3" and 222 lbs., he can definitely be of use in the red zone. He's already done that.

I think the heat he will take all season will serve as a great lesson to everyone, not just athletes. Sometimes life in prison is a better punishment than the death penalty. No easy way out for you Riley.

He's gonna have to face the guys in that locker room every day, Black AND White. He's lost a lot of trust on the personal, off the field side.

I agree. It's a lesson that many need to learn. I would prefer this lesson not be taught at the expense of team chemistry and the development of Kelly's command over the locker room.

            He's gotta go.

Chip will gauge the locker room

If those guys make it known that they don't want Riley back, he won't be back, despite what Chip said about his roster spot being secure. Riley's career is basically in his teammates' hands

                Fuck Riley Cooper

It would intrigue me if he was any good. He is not worth the head ache. I don't want to hear about him any more. Just cut him and move on. I'm sick of this story already...

If he could play worth a damn Reid would have had him on the field more. He's a #4 guy at best.
.....and you thought I was ugly on the outside.

That bringing Riley Cooper back will hurt his team and fracture that locker room, Cooper is gone. Period. So yes, Riley Cooper's fate rests in the hands of his teammates.

What message does that send to the rest of the team. I rest my case! He is listed as their starting wide receiver today August 5th!

The message is: Jean has a long moustache. Wound my heart with a monotonous languor.

                            See you at the landing.

The classic Philly sports fan mindset. It's not right or wrong - it is what it is. Both a shame and a mantle of pride. Love and hate in constant turmoil.

Coupla things. Other than a handful of veterans and the first coupla draft picks, not many players on that field are secure enough in their jobs to make any ultimatums with the new coaches. Whether they like it or not, they will play with Riley Cooper.

Just a hunch, but I think Riley Cooper might have a drinking problem more than a race problem. Seem to recall a story about him punching through a car window in college. Cost him an entire season because of the injury he sustained. Sounds like alcohol might have been involved in that.

The sad part is that he's the very definition of mediocrity yet he actually might be the second or third best WR on the team. I don't know why this organization has so much trouble finding good WR's. Been this way for decades. One or two decent ones trickle in but never a solid receiving corp from top to bottom. If Jackson gets hurt, they are screwed big time. Then they've got absolutely nuttin'.
