  • Here's why I think Chip will be successful

From what I've read, the players say he is a great teacher. Not only does he tell each guy what to do and how to do it but WHY they are being asked to do it that way.

"He gives you a reason for everything he does and everything he asks you to do," one veteran said (paraphrasing).

"He is down to earth and he doesn't mind when you ask him "why" or if you want to suggest something and he is humble enough to coach up each guy individually."

Apparently that's something Reid never did.

I read that about him too

and it's a great quality to have. He never does ANYTHING football related without having a reason and always studies the "why" of a situation. When his players question why he's doing a certain thing, he's always ready and willing to tell them exactly why, and the science behind his reasoning. None of this "because I'm the coach" b.s. I'm not saying that's what Reid did, but I think that goes a long way with the players.

Yeah, it's a very deliberate science based approach. Reading about these qualities is what convinced me he would be the best guy to hire and could actually have potential to really change the NFL game with his approaches. I hope it works out long term.

They are having fun out there again...kind of like the Phillies under Sandberg, it's a new brand and I like it.
