Bucks Definitely Out On Embiid

Not that this wasn't to be expected, but the Bucks owner came out today and said they aren't even considering Embiid anymore after the injury. They want a guy who can "help (us) from Day 1"

God, I hope Cleveland pulls a typical Cleveland and takes Embiid.

I don't want Embiid at 3, but Embiid at 10 wouldn't be horrible.

I have this weird feeling they're going to take this Croatian kid, Dario Saric, at 10. He just signed a new deal with his Turkish team today, meaning, if they drafted him, he'd play in Turkey for 2 years before coming to play for the Sixers or he could decide to never leave Europe as well. That would be a very Philadelphia outcome.

Don't get me wrong, I know drafting Embiid is a huge risk. But he's got homerun potential if these injuries aren't chronic. Every account I've read/heard is that assuming both he and Noel were healthy, Embiid would be a much better fit for the Sixers -- more athletic, can run better, much better offensively.

Embiid's injuries are a huge concern. But there's no guarantee Noel comes back 100 percent from his injuries, either. Between talent and injury concerns of his own, I'm just not sure the Sixers already have a great center on their team, y'know?

Read that they've received offers from Sixers, Jazz and Magic for #1. Each offer includes that team's early pick plus a veteran.

Sixers: 3 and Thad
Magic: 4 and Arron Affalo
Jazz: 5 and Derrick Favors

I hope Gilbert falls in love for Thad for some reason.

You banged the tank drum for years. I'm fairly certain that you at one point told us all how Jrue Holiday wasn't good enough to be your franchise cornerstone.

Hinkie trades Jrue for the #1 prospect (before the knee) and another lottery pick in a strong draft. It's his fault the NBA has a flawed system for determining the order? It's his fault for Embiid getting hurt? To clarify, are you saying you'd be happier if they kept Jrue, Turner and Hawes?

This year's draft hasn't even happened yet and already Hinkie failed? The leader of the tank brigade immediately jumps ship when things get even a little bit tough?

I'll admit I'm not thrilled how it's looking like it will turn out, but I'm at least willing to let it play out before slitting my wrists.

The best on this team doesn't mean they're cornerstone players. Hinkie waited too long to tank. He could have gotten those second round picks to start the season. Hinkie thought he could get more. He got cute and now it appears it backfired. Now, the difference between #2 & #3 is huge. If you're going to do what I've clearly been saying for years regarding tanking, do it right.

Things didn't get a little bit tough. They got extremely tough.

They prolly kept Turner and Hawes too long, but at the end of the day, we're still dealing with a lottery and with hypotheticals. Just because Milwaukee finished worst and got #2 doesn't mean the same outcome would have happened had the Sixers had the worst record.

I think you and I both know that the most likely outcome had the Sixers really tanked and finished worst would have been us ending up with 4 and New Orleans getting top 3, just cause that's our luck.

Still a lot of calls to be made and scenarios to play out. It looks bleak and like they're stuck taking Embiid or Exum, but nobody saw the Jrue trade coming either. Hinkie still deserves our faith and I'm waiting to see what he can pull out of his bag of tricks.

I think at this point, I'd rather roll the dice with Embiid than Exum. I have this weird feeling they may have targeted Exum all along. Brett Brown knows Exum best and I'm starting to think the Wiggins love may have been a smokescreen. Hinkie plays his card too close to his chest to have showed his hand.

The Exum thing is very possible. I've said from the beginning, if any team takes Exum above 4, it would be us because of Brown.

If they take Exum, MCW is going somewhere. The two centers they'd be ok with, but I don't think they want two distributors who can't shoot.

He's just in his first year on the job. With that being said, only a complete moron could screw this situation up. If he trades down, he'd be a fool to go any lower than 3 unless he got a deal that just blew him out of the water. #5 and Derrick Favors is not that deal.
