  • The NBA is a terrific product right now

Last nights NO/OKC game was as good as any regular season NFL game I saw this year. Atlanta/GS was great too. So many likeable superstars (Durant, Curry, Anthony Davis, ect). I love how there are about 8 teams who could win it all this year.

The league is as good as it's been since the mid 90s. People who disagree probably aren't watching it.

Yea that, Atlanta has best record in league and nobody on team averaging near 20 a game.

The Brow won't be 22 for another month. That is truly scary for the rest of the league.

Steph Curry and Dame Lillard are my two favorite players to watch right now. When those two get hot, it's remarkable.

The Hawks are impressive. Too bad they play in such a bad market.

...was the best thing that could have happened to pro basketball. It did not eliminate the "star system" but it showed that team ball can beat any so-called "big 3". Lost arts like moving without the ball and hitting cutters, mid-range shooting etc. seem to be making a comeback.

A little late to the party but I'm glad you're here. I don't usually care about off court shit but on top of quality play in league Silver has done a really nice job

Well put. I have a rant I resort to in person on that very topic

Couldn't agree more. Watched Sixers and Grizzlies games last night and both were enjoyable. Makes me wish I did more than the pick 5 package.

The Grizzlies are another great team to watch. I can't wait for the playoffs.

It's a perfect balance of superstars and team play/coaching. There won't be any big market team in later rounds of the NBA playoffs, and I fully expect the ratings to be very high. Unlike baseball, it's become less regionalized.

If I want to go to a game, they're pretty much the closest team to me. I highly recommend checking out a game in Memphis. Stadium is right on Beale St. and it's a cool atmosphere.

I don't think they make it to the Conf Finals in the extremely tough West, but the Mavs or the Clippers would be the only two big market teams with a shot. As much as I like the new generation of stars, I wouldn't mind seeing Dirk getting one more for the road. However, Rondo being on that team and the fact that they play in Dullass makes them extremely hard to root for, even with Dirk.

Edit to add: Technically the Bay Area and Atlanta would count as major markets, but neither really feels like it when it comes to bball. Actually, I think that's my ideal Finals...Warriors/Hawks

Nba is in a great spot. I think the quality of stars is definitely on par with the early 90s.

A really interesting story right now is the FA Hassan Whiteside in Miami that is 25 and had been playing in Lebanon and China. Dude has had a game with 12 blocks, and at least two with 20 rbs, and he's an athletic seven footer. It should be Linsanity all over again with a much better chance of having staying power.

When I saw you posted in this thread I rolled my eyes and thought here comes something truly retarded.

I gotta say though, I can't agree more
