Never got a reason in high school why I had to read that drivel and how it was going to help me in life.

A new study finds that of the 52 liberal arts colleges and universities most highly ranked by US News and World Report, only four require their English Lit majors to take a course in Shakespeare.

Years ago when I majored in English Lit, I had to take a course in Shakespeare, and I'm proud to say my alma mater still requires it. I also had to take a semester of Chaucer in the original Middle English, but it looks like that was dropped.

John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
