        I'd take it.

I'd think he'd be the perfect guy if they went with a young first-time HC with an offensive background like Gase, McAdoo or Pederson.

He's been a successful HC before, knows how to build a program with young players (I thought TB was turning it around) but doesn't seem like he would have an ego that would get in the way of not being the top guy or working with Howie.

Only question is whether the Tampa 2 would be a good fit. I actually think we have good personnel for it.....other than non-tackling Byron Maxwell. Also I dunno if Barwin in good enough in coverage.

Lovie got fired because they wanted the young coach to take over for him. I don't know how much he'll want to come in to be the guy assisting another young coach. He's in his prime and I'd be surprised if he'd take anything less than a HC position.

Tampa is probably paying him this year anyway so even if he takes a year off he's probably not feeling pressured to find just any job.

They fired Lovie Smith over the phone.

The Culprit was Jason Licht who wanted full control.. Didn't want Koetter to go to Miami

You're right that he's probably looking for HC jobs. However, if nothing materializes for him, you never know.

In addition, his old DC, Leslie Frazier, is now available too. Former HC with Philly roots under JJ. A lot of the positives of Lovie would apply to him as well, and he'd run that same Tampa 2 system.

Smith's buyout from Tampa as more than 10 million so maybe if he doesn't get any traction for a HC job by next year he'd look to step down but if I were him I wouldn't be in a hurry.

Frazier would be more plausible assuming the Eagles and their new HC would want his style of defense.

As bad as this team needs to go back to a 4-3 D

                    Frazier would be a plus

would go to DE, not OLB right? I'd take Vinny Curry over Barwin though.

Hicks, Kiko, and Kendricks at LB doesn't look so bad..

                        No shot.

Why give up two years of free money to be a DC for Howie and his hand picked puppet?

God I would love to know what these guys really think when Howie is interviewing them.

Do they just sort of stifle giggles the whole time? Do they just stare at Jeff's forehead and whisper to themselves, don't laugh...don't laugh...the money will be real...don't laugh.

Shiiiiiiiiitttt! Howie has street cred. Money, Power, and Respect.

500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

That's the thing. Curry is a natural DE. Barwin is a natural 3-4 OLB. Barwin could cut it as a SLB, but not in the Tampa 2, when LBs have to be so athletic. Also, his pass rushing ability would be wasted on the Tampa 2.

As to Kiko, rookie year version would be perfect. 2015 version would be a disaster.
