Someone on CSN had an interesting point that right now, his trade value has plummeted because of the current moves. They suggested that if he should continue as the starter this year - and play well - then his trade value would increase, and a better 2017 pick would be the result.

I was originally thinking along these lines but you have to weigh the possibility he could suffer another season ending injury. If that happened he would be pretty much worth nothing.
