That's what caught my eye, too. DQ's original post said that the AK mowed people down. It probably should have said, "Crazy asshole with AK-15 mows down..."
It's attributing human characteristics to a machine. Kind of like when you see stories about somebody getting hit by an SUV. Uhhh...that person was hit by another driver IN an SUV.
