  • Recap of 2017

    2016 that is.

DeSean Jackson led the NFL in yards per reception.

Lesean McCoy led all NFL running backs with more than 140 carries in yards per carry.

    Chump Kelly got fired.

Chump was one of the biggest chumps ever.

It's bad when people fall for a con job. Hope it doesn't happen again.
But people fall for them all the time.

    Con artists suck.

People hate Mark Eckel but he's right here. The blame is on Chump and on HowLo.

        Maybe that's Lurie's gambit

Protect Howie at all costs. One year, he's the GM, the next he's not, then he's stuffed in a locker. Who knows. Some writers pin Howie down for everything since 09. Other's give him nothing except last year.

The whole thing about ejecting McLane from the press box seems really strange to me.

A successful football organization doesn't need to do things like that.

You don't think Howie had a hand in that do you?

I have no idea. The whole incident seems strange to me.

I do know that Dave Spadaro would never be ejected from the press box.

But if you do it in front of a room full or writers, it seems less likely to be malicious and more stupid and annoyed, right?

Myths probably pissed in that VP's cheerios some time ago and she was all too happy to give it back now that she had the power.

                It's Occam's razor to me.

I was listening to Herm Edwards the other day on Mad Dog and he opined that GM's are firing coaches before the end of the season now so they can avoid being fired themselves. If the season ends, the owner may be inclined to fire both and let his new GM hire the next coach. If the GM cans the coach before the season ends, it provides a buffer between the two and the GM can distance himself from the coach and perhaps keep his job.

My initial thought was that this is not what happened when Lurie fired Kelly as Roseman had already lost the power struggle. Then I thought maybe that is exactly what happened. Roseman thought Lurie might clean house and started getting in his ear about Kelly, got Kelly fired before the season even ended and was able to position himself to stay on. Wouldn't surprise me.

At the end of the day, I just think Lurie is a hopelessly bad businessman. His blind spot (as Reub refers to it) for Howie just shows that he doesn't see what's right in front of him. He stepped in gold with Andy, JJ, 5, etc. but once that was over and he had to manage his business under less desirable circumstances, he has been a mess. He may be worse than Snyder as an owner.

After reading all the butthurt from the Philly media, i still think its funny that they tossed McLane. Who cares? A sports reporter was tossed from a pressbox. Boo hoo. I guess we're not going to see any more of that front- office praise from the media any more.

                          Said it before

I'll say it again ... if any other NFC East team hired Gomer as HC and had Howie fuckin' Roseman as the GM, you'd giggle like a schoolgirl, wouldn't you?

                            I don't think it's funny. Seriously.

                            Enjoy Dave Spadaro and Pravda.

There is a reason why we call him Houseman and there is a reason why we dislike Pravda.

As you've also said before, the Vikings saved Howie's ass this year. Imagine a 7-9 clusterfuck with Wentz sitting all season and no first round draft choice.
