I hate the Nationals (I kinda had a soft spot for the Expos) but I think MLB is fortunate they pulled it out in the WS last year.

I actually thought about you when I heard that last night lol.

I love your idea. You can never take away the joy the Astros and their fans experienced due to their cheat. You can never take away the pain that the Dodgers, Yankees and their fans experienced while being cheated. So you have to cripple them going forward. For a year, two years, whatever. But make it such that nobody is going to want to pay to watch them play for at least a year.

In soccer, when teams get caught cheating like this, they get automatically relegated or they get a points deduction which, if severe enough, practically ensures relegation.

There’s no relegation in Major League Baseball, but what about this? The Astros will be deemed to start 40 games back to begin the 2020 season both for division and wild card purposes. They will thus have to make up forty games in the standings in order to either win their division or finish ahead of who would have been the second wild card team. In 2021 it ratchets down to a 30 game penalty, in 2022 20 games, in 2023 10 games, and none after 2023.

And the owners should fire Manfred.

I agree that that is what should happen, but I'm getting a Spygate vibe from this. I saw Tim Kirkjean (sp?) on ESPN yesterday basically carrying Manfred's water with the "oh, he did the right thing, it's unfair to go after the players at this point, can't vacate the title...." line. Why can't you suspend every player who participated or knew about it for a year? They're not on the Astros anymore? Too bad! Social media is the x factor I guess. People have come up with pretty creative ways to get info out there.

The saddest thing I read about was Yu Darvish's wife posting a picture of their son sobbing as his father was getting shelled in game 7. People's lives were damaged.

I know, it's almost unimaginable. But this thing is snowballing out of control. It's one thing to know a team cheated, it's another to have viral videos of it popping up all over the place.

When my wife and daughter are sending me videos and coming to me to talk about sign stealing. this has gone to a whole new level. That's how I gauge the severity of the scandal.

The Altuve thing is bizarre. Hit the game winning homerun and first thought is "don't rip my shirt off?" Then go into dugout to change into your T shirt? May just be twitter sleuthing but it's fishy.

The Reddick picture is clearly confetti and a necklace plus he stunk that series.

Some New England fan woman was taunting me as I left the stadium with my then wife.

It was actually pretty pathetic as this was after the game was over.

My code of conduct: It's ok to root for your team. It's not ok to taunt. Usually I get along with opposing fans

Mr. 3D: yeah that would have changed McNabb/Reids legacy forever.
