  • Did anyone even bring up Kapler?

    Crazy story but:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...=.adc1f8da96ad

    Kapler responded: http://kaplifestyle.com/2019/02/02/my-statement/

This this whole thing went no where right now. Interesting.

I've tallked about it with a friend (major Phis fan) who dosen't participate on the board. I thiink it's a strange siituation. At least none of this happened when Kapler was employed by the Phillies.

FOUR YEARS LATER, AFTER KAP GETS MANAGER JOB, SHE FINALLY STEPS UP?

I CALL BULLSHIT ON THE SEXUAL ASSAULT FROM THE PLAYERS SHE'S CLAIMING.

SHE GOT HAMMERED, WANTS A PAYDAY.

          THAT'S MY TAKE.

That's not what happened. The Wapo article does a terrible job of stating that Kapler didn't know about any sexual assault. However, less than a week later, she accuses the players, to police, of sexual assault. She later refuses to cooperate with police and the player she accused hired a lawyer.

It seems to be, Kapler knew of *an* assault (physical and Kapler specifically denied a sexual assault to his knowledge when he was contacted by her). An assault his players didn't cause to happen, but certainly didn't help. The question turns on whether you think he had an obligation to report that.

The tea leaves (and Kapler) suggest the girl and/or her family were looking for a payday. What situation she was in is wholly unclear though. My experience tells me that something *convinced* her not to pursue further, but I've seen just as many women refuse to pursue a case for a number of reasons.
