I was shaking my head trying to figure out the thought process on that one. I thought we had problems but the Giants are a train wreck right now. Love it!

Dougie did it against the Vikings in the 4th quarter.

Odds of a successful 2PC are 50%, whereas the odds of an XP are 94%. The expected payout of going for it twice is higher than just kicking it twice. And if you're successful going for two the first time around, you can win in regulation, as opposed to having a 50% chance in OT.

Luckily it worked when Dougie went for it. For everything he's struggling with this year, he's still doing better than the rest of the league on 4th down, 2 point conversions, etc.

Ya, I read this on the Twit last night and still don’t agree. I sure am glad they did it though. They are a dumpster fire.

Analytics show that’s the correct call there.

Yeah, i remember this debate. Feels weird to me but I guess the odds of making two twice are better than the odds of missing two twice. Make one, miss one is a wash.

When will the analytics tell Doug to pack the season in?

What does the machine say about 3-5 versus 4-4.

Does a win this weekend mean a trade, while a loss means they’ll do nothing and we’ll like it?

It’s the Monty Hall Problem of football analytics.

                          The decision

If it was purely about analytics, no one would go for an XP ever.

It is situational - when down by 14 and you score the analytics say go for 2. It is not about "going for 2 is always better than going for 1".

I understand. I bet Pay regrets it this morning. I don’t care what he says.
