Jeffery acquired. Eagles win Super Bowl.

    Coincidence? I think not.

The Eagles have done very well with Gamecocks.

Is there a chance they will just cut Clowney if not traded, he has not signed his franchise tag yet and if he does not what can the Texans do otherwise.

So this is why you go and get Clowney, Howie

The Miami Herald is reporting that the GM-less Texans now want to do a trade along these lines:

            - Texans get LT Laremy Tunsil

            - Dolphins get Clowney AND a first round pick (Dolphins are asking for more picks)

The Texans have no GM, no leverage with Clowney (he can't be signed to a new deal until after the season), and they are desperate for OL help to protect Watson. The Texans are also clearly looking for offensive weapons.

Trade for him, take the $15 million cap hit this year, win a SB, and let him walk next year for the 2021 3rd round comp pick.

Who or what are you going to trade for him?

                You have to start with

Guys who you are expecting to lose in the off-season:

                Agholor
                Vaitai
                Douglas
Darby (would be semi-shocking, but he's on a one year deal and Jones and Douglas have played almost all camp together)

Then move to some tough decision guys:

Jeffrey (due $16 million next year and 31 years old)
                Mailata

                And include a pick:

Eagles are expected to have two 3s and maybe two 4s

IMO, almost none of those guys would be a serious offer. Agholor, Big V, and Mailata are completely replaceable. Offering multiple players of that caliber (Clement/Sallwood being others) doesn't make an offer any more attractive.

Darby or Jeffery are the kind of players that you include in a serious offer. Not sure why Houston would want Jeffery considering they're set at WR and he's neither very young nor cheap. Darby is someone that could make them listen to an offer considering he's cheap this year and Houston has a bad secondary.

3rd or 4ths are kind of like Agholor and Big V. You have to offer a 1st for a guy like Clowney.

Mailata is not a serious offer, at this point in his caree, he is just a project. They want a stud LT not even sure Vaitii gets it done. Maybe Vaitii and Smallwood since they have no RB as Dillard seems to be the real deal and tell Houston to keep their #1 pic. No one is giving up their starting LT for a possible 1 year rental that would be insane!
