I guess I’ll get to defend Machado the way you get to blindly defend your Syracuse guy McNabb.

Machado has never given anything but 100% to the O’s. I will hate to see him go.

You want to see over the top? Go back and read some of your posts on the McNabb thread.

If the Phils get Machado they’ll be singing hosannas in the streets.

The fact that he only wants to play short makes him a little less attractive.

He's a Gold Glover at third. He's average at short. I prefer he states he would play where it gives his team the best chance to win. He's a much better fit on this team at third.

Let's have blueberries AND strawberries! Sign them both.

Agree both must be long term deals and not rentals.

I’m bitter and I don’t appreciate dumping on a great Baltimore Oriole on his way out anymore than the Eagles used to do it when they let a veteran go.

                            From Wikipedia:

On July 1, [1982, Earl] Weaver decided to permanently shift [Cal] Ripken to shortstop, deciding that it was harder to find a shortstop who could hit than it was to find a third baseman who could hit. Weaver said, "You never know. Rip might be a great shortstop."

I know it's not a popular pick but I think I'd now rather have Harper than Machado. That may change in a month or so. Who knows?
