  • So Middleton Left Vegas with .......

Nothing except loss of gas money, no Harper signing, this is getting ridiculous. At this point just move on and forget him he has no other team making big offers, not to mention he is missing a ton of spring training.

He didn't leave Vegas. He stayed and sent his plane back to Florida, probably to pick up his family and the rest of the front office.

Reports are that the deal will be struck tomorrow.

Treat your rivals chump like he didnt bat .249 last season and he will have you running around like a jagoff until you finally fork over all the gold in Fort Knox just to discover the whole thing amounted to an all time bust.

Yes, let's pretend it's 1979 and that people still look at batting average like it is the end all, be all measure of a hitter. It's all about that sweet, sweet OPS.

Average, OBP, and walks-to-SO ratio aren't close.

Harper's going to be a nightmare at CPB. An absolute nightmare.

                      From that same site:

Top 10 similar batters through Age 25:

                      Andruw Jones (945.1)
                      Ken Griffey Jr. (923.9) *
                      Justin Upton (914.9)
                      Ruben Sierra (908.6)
                      Frank Robinson (907.0) *
                      Mike Trout (897.6)
                      Miguel Cabrera (896.3)
                      Tony Conigliaro (895.5)
                      Jose Canseco (893.9)
                      Eddie Mathews (893.8) *
                      * - Signifies Hall of Famer

So, three HOFers and two future HOFers. Not too shabby!!!

I think hawks gonna a little crazy with this harper shit, but Harper is really good. He's a top 2-3 player in MLB and he's 26. His OBP is a full 40 pts higher than Ryan Howard's career and when Howard won the MVP, he got on at a .425 clip. Harper's MVP season saw him get on at a .460 clip.

Dude will be absurd here for 7+ seasons.

andrew jones with more strikouts, more ejections, and less value in the field is a fair projection. hopefully he doesnt fall off as steeply when he turns 30 (i actually dont think he will).

make no mistake they are grossly overpaying for this player.
