  • Free Agent QBs

I doubt that the Eagles would prefer to have Sanchez back next year. He has proven to be at least an adequate backup that can win you a few games against non playoff teams.

They have much bigger problems than having Sanchez as the backup QB. I would not mind having him back next year.

However, I'm hearing that they want someone who can challenge Foles.

Does Chip think he can resurrect Jack Locker?

Remember Locker is another guy from the West coast--Washington. He has the mobility that must be attractive to Chip but does he have the accuracy to hit the Eagles receivers who don't often get much separation.

The games I watched this year--which was all of them, Sanchez didn't allow Dez Bryant and then Jackson to run riot all over them. While it's true that his INTs certainly didn't help matters, they weren't the major cause for those losses. In fact, Sanchez led them back from 21 and 10 point defiecits in those two pivotal games.

Exactly the trash in the defensive backfield, and the o line being a shambles for part of the season and losing the starting qb. might have something to do with the reason they are not in the tournament.

Really amazes me how some look for easy targets to whine about like Foles and Chip and Davis and ignore the facts the real reasons this team isn't still playing this season.

Fix the Defense, this offense when healthy scores points. Why is it all some people want to talk a about are so called skill positions when it comes to the draft. Fantasy football has fucked up the brains of many football fans.

You didn't seem to hate Fantasy Football here.

Here are multiple threads where you wanted to trade Foles:

              http://igglephans.com/iggboard/showthread.php?t=279609

And then here is a thread right after that where you called everyone who wanted Foles traded "clueless."

Here's a thread where you wanted the Eagles to be bad enough last year to draft Johnny Football:

              http://igglephans.com/iggboard/showthread.php?t=278004

And here is one where you sarcastically say the Eagles should have drafted him, like you knew he sucked the whole time:

              http://igglephans.com/iggboard/showthread.php?t=295228

I don't want to get in a huge thing with you, I'm tired of doing that, and as Diggle pointed out, I was doing it too much, leading to unreadable shit.

I just wanted to point out your serious hypocrisy when it comes to a lot of subjects. My advice would be to stop being so steadfast about everything. You do it with you draft prospecting, FA targets, evaluation of Eagles players and things like that. You're mind is always completely made up, until it isn't, and anyone who disagrees with you, you call an idiot or something along those lines.

You do a lot of research into the draft and FA and want to discuss it here. Great, that's part of what this place is for. The problem with you (like how it happened with McNabb) is you make your mind up about something and then aggressively argue with anyone who disagrees. Chill out a bit, be more open minded to other schools of thought and people might be more inclined to have more honest discussions with you, instead of calling you a racist and throwing your opinions away.

                      Horseshit.

Sanchez threw picks when the game was on the line in both of those performances.

And that's his problem ... always has been.

With Foles they always had a chance to come back. 0 confidence in Sanchez.

At the risk of taking shit ... this reminds me of what Eli Manning was doing early in his career.

He was just about run out of town with the same exact complaints they have about Foles ... even early in the year they won the first Super Bowl with him.

Throws too many INT's ... bad footwork ... throws off his back foot.

I live up here ... I know for a fact that it was being written in the paper and talked about by the fans.

But the one thing they kept saying was that he throws a good deep ball (not something Foles does quite as well, but way better than Sanchez) ... and the most important was that he thrived at the end of a close game.

When a qb steps it up at the end of close games, that's what wins the locker room ... that's what you want in a quarterback.

Sanchez is the opposite ... Foles does it.

Does it mean he's a franchise guy?

Can't tell yet, but all this bullshit about he's a lock bust is fucking stupid when he's barely started a full year and particularly when he has shown that intangible in close games late.

Not sure I'd settle for an Eli Manning

Sure, I'd take two Lombardis, but little else about him is good enough. At his best he's been a better than average starter. Most of his time has been spent at a lesser level.

I think Foles had a bad shoulder almost from the start of the season. I'll give him a mulligan for that. I also think we would have won the division if he could have finished the season instead of Sanchez. That being said, I consider him a long shot to be a real top notch QB in either the traditional or modern mode. He either needs an extraordinary team around him or lightning in a bottle. If we're going to build around him we have to do a tremendous job of filling the holes in this roster.

Hey, the Slack Jawed Yokel isn't in the category of a tip top QB like Brady or his brother and he can always eat my ass.

However, guys that can make the throws and play well at the end of games can win championships a lot easier than when the QB sucks a pole at the end of games.

Because you generally need the guy to do it a time or three during the year and in the playoffs.

But you always need a team around him ... Elway didn't win until Davis ran the ball for him.

The Slack Jawed Yokel won because Spagnulo had that pass rush killing people and all the cards fell in place.

It's always been a team game.

That's why I want them to fix that motherfucking defense.
