That game in Denver was crazy! You could barely see the ball. I wish there were more football games like that nowadays...

I'd love to go to one of the US WC-Qualifiers in Mexico, Costa Rica or Panama.

Picking up that point was big. Wonder if KG thinks Mexico is still hungover from the Olympics.

There's more action in five minutes of an NCAA basketball tournament game.

Niche sport in the US forever. Or at least until the majority of the population is Spanish.

The number of kids (of every race and ethnicity) who participate in soccer over all the other sports suggest that soccer is well on its way to becoming the most popular sport here as it is in every other nation.

I believe MLS is already more popular than hockey in the US. (if not yet, neck and neck) Soon it will approach basketball. Then basebore. Eventually, the NFL will bow down to actual football.

              It's inevitable.

Lots of kids play soccer for some period of their youth so there are indeed millions of them. But whether or not they watch soccer, buy gear and become soccer consumers is what will determine whether or not that sport rises in the US

Many kids play soccer on Saturday and then tune in to the NFL on Sunday, so participation alone won't push that sport into the top spot for a long time, if ever

The decline of the NFL is another story, but its demise as the King of Sports in the US isn't tied to the rise of youth soccer imo

You could be right. My assumption was/is that early life participation in a sport breeds the sort of deep-down-in-your-gut affection for the game. It certainly makes for better adult players.

Maybe your point is more akin to Jazz...at least for me. Fun to play, boring to listen to.
