  • Starting to have a sinking feeling dream team will pick Geno Smith

Get same feeling thinking about him as the QB here for next 5 years as I did watching that Kevin Ware replay.

I just don't see it. Injuries aside, the line is OK. I'd take any defensive player of Smith before OL.

I don't understand all the Geno Smith hate. At this stage rookie QBs are a freaking steal compared to the contracts out there. Romo just got a hundred mill and Bradford is locked up for 85 mill. So if the Eagles want to bring in Geno Smith at a contract that is a quarter of the cost of Bradford, it makes sense.

The only thing is it costs them a high first but taking a QB high is so different than it was two seasons ago that instead of it being a wild gamble it is just investing in the most important position.

If the Eagles draft Geno Smith

how many Qbs will that be trying out for the starting spot 5 or 6? This defense suck so bad I would rather they start there in the draft first.

If they Draft Smith, Vick is gone or at least not starting, Dixon remains a career backup and Foles is moved... Don't get me wrong, I would prefer they go 3-4 DE (Floyd or Lotulelei) or rush-OLB (Jordan), but I wouldn't mind if they took Smith. The earlier this regime starts developing its QB of the future the better...

Myths McLane today said they won't.

You know what that means; Chip will use the 4th pick on him.

Because he sucks at that spot in the draft?

What a shitty draft for Qbs.

This draft have JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young written all over it.

There's still a lot of carryover doomsday feeling from the way Banner and Reid ran things. I'm willing to give Roseman, Kelly, and Gamble the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise.

Nobody in their right mind would draft Geno Smith in the top 5. If they do, we'll know that the new regime will be a short lived one.

                        I don't want that bum

He's another dummy that's going to be a turnover machine. Pass.

Saw him play against Texas he came up big in a big spot there. I know he had some rough games down the stretch but he completes a lot of passes and I think he is right around where Sam Bradford was in talent when he came out for the draft. So to say he isn't worth a high first is as ridiculous as to say he is a sure-fire bust.

IMO last years record crop of QBs is clouding everyone's judgement on what to expect from a high first round QB prospect.

Can't see them not taking Dion Jordan, makes too much sense. Could see them going Manuel with pick 2 tho

I would suggest that last year's 1st round QB's are exactly what's expected from that round. The best QB's in the league come from the first round. The great ones mostly from the top 5 if not 1 (if one chooses not to look at the anomalies like Brady) What you don't want is to be the team that picks the next Alex Smith or Vince Young.

I suppose your argument is that the latter is more likely than the former, but I don't agree.

I would also argue that it is far too soon to judge RGIII. Something about him smells like unfulfilled potential to me. I think Cam Newton will have the better career. (now watch just the opposite happen)
