Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings are newer band that sounds like old time funk but not the most contemporary ither but check'em out if you aren't familiar with them.YOU KILLED TED YOU MEDIEVAL DICKWEED! -
I saw them when they opened up for Prince a couple of years ago. I liked their act but I saw them as being old style funk / R&B. Which I think is good, we need more newer bands carrying on with that.Originally posted by Cheesesteak View Post

Well, the newest incarnation of the Meters is The Metermen featuring Page from Phish. Saw them at UT in Philly and it was solid. too many white people trying to get funky makes me kinda sick to my stomach though
