I know what you mean. I've worked with alot of....

....foreign scientists here and you should hear what they think of athletics as it applies to academia here in the US.

              Hey

Most of those athletes major in something other then sports. They also end up working at enterprise

My brother was a D1AA full scholarship football player. He also had the highest math SAT of any football player admitted to Northeastern, majored in mathematics, and took five years of calculus. But I'm sure a lot of his much less intelligent classmates assumed he was a dumb jock.

Best thing my daughter ever did was turn down athletic scholarship money and forego college athletics. Her grades are excellent and her college experience has been much fuller, I'm sure of that. First year she lived in a suite with two girls who were scholarship cross country/track athletes, and they both bombed out of school. I suppose I could have guilted her into taking a scholarship and making my life easier, but I wouldn't do that.

                      Mayock said...

"But there was a kind of important pre-draft question surrounding Kaepernick two years ago: Could he throw the ball accurately?
A four-year starter in the Western Athletic Conference, Kaepernick didn’t complete more than 59 percent of his passes until his senior season. On a national conference call this week, the well-respected Mayock conceded he had concerns about Kaepernick’s erratic arm in 2011.
“What did people miss?” Mayock said. “Kaepernick, I went over my notes this fall. When he started taking off, I went back to my college notes on him, and I was like look at all this I have written on this kid. What I had was big arm, wildly inconsistent, great athlete.”
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

You could make the argument that his erratic throws cost them the Super Bowl this year. Lack of touch killed them in the RZ.

he blew some of those throws.

Delivery issues (windup) partially due to height
Has to adjust from Pistol offense
Must go through more progressions at pro level
Frame might lead to durability concerns
Lacks size to rid himself of tacklers
                          Ball security needs improvement
                          Played mostly against inferior competition
