  • Chip Kelly is playing some poker with

    Geno Smith

Bring him in showing interest. To get get some sucker team in need of a young franchise qb to bite. Jets, Cardinals, Bills being the teams behind them in the draft that need to look at a new young qb. Sanchez lmao, Kolb not long term answer, Palmer lmao. They all could be short term answers while Smith carries a clip board for a year.

Eagles try to move back in a trade back and pick up an extra pick. I dont see them moving to far if 5 tech DT is a target the two best are rated better than Cox coming out last year, then there is a big drop off. I have to think DT is a priority given the purge of DTs in the off season. I think STar is their target and they are praying one of the three teams mentioned bites.

The OT is pretty damn deep with quality they could move back pretty far and still grab a very good OT.

Maybe just maybe they get real lucky pull a trade off to Cardinals or Bills and then force the Jets to reconsider an offer for Foles.

This could be a very very interesting draft.

They've done the same with every other projected top 10 pick as well - perhaps they are just doing their draft homework the way a team with a top 4 pick should?

For sure they are but. Manuel is the pick in the second round. The kid Chip tried to recruit but failed to get when he was at Oregon.

I'm still trying to figure out why Lurie took the trip to WVU

Did they need someone to take a look at Geno's teeth?

I'm convinced the plan is to to whatever necessary to drop back a bit in Rd. 1 and pick up at least an extra 2nd rounder. Every one of the 3 OT's, the 3 DT's, the 3 Rush LB's, Miliner, and even Geno would be good for the team. That's 10 right there. In my mind, if they drop down anywhere within the top 12-15, they will still get an excellent player. They say the strength of this draft is in Rd. 2-3 - I think they'll try like hell to get more picks in those rounds.

Yeah, I'm seeing that, too. Unfortunately, I don't see them getting a second-rounder unless they fall back to the late first round. The draft is too deep this year.

I could see them swapping picks with a team like the Bills and dropping down to the eight spot. I think that would only net them a third this year, though.

No way - if you drop back from #4 to #10, you should get another 1st rounder. They'd get a 2nd rounder for sure - and probably more than that. Look what Washington paid last year to get RG3. If somebody wants the player they are trading up for badly enough, they'll pay a steep price to get their guy.

here are last years' draft trades for comparison.

my guess is less value at the top this year and more value in the middle. vikings gm Rick Spielman hosed the Browns and convinced them that he had 4 other teams looking at pick number 3...for trent richardson

And Oakland needs to get multiple picks to make up for giving them away in the past. Oakland will want to trade down big time

How do you get another first rounder by moving down to #10? If you look at the draft pick expert value chart, pick #4 is worth 1800 points and pick #10 is worth is worth 1300. So the difference is 500 points, which corresponds to pick #40.

Unless some other GM is a non-expert or is willing to overpay, I don't think they would get another first rounder by moving down to #10. I guess it's possible in a bidding war scenario but I don't find that likely. I agree they should easily get a second rounder in that scenario, though.

You're right - I was going by memory - didn't realize the drop from 3 to 4 was so big. At the very least, we should get a 2nd rounder.

How about this - All depends on what Jags and Raiders do -- if they take Smith really limits possibilities unless someone is really wanting one player in particular.

                      1. Trade to Cardinals 4 for the 7 spot -- get Cardinals 3 and 4 round picks
                      Cardinals draft Smith
                      2. With Smith Gone Jets desperate for a qb not name Sanchez -- Eagles Trade qb Nick Foles to Jets he is reunited with Marty is ready to go out of the box on the wc he is going to most likely install there -- Eagles get Revis and something else maybe a 3rd pick or higher future pick or -- maybe Eagles get Jets 2nd round pick

Jets said they were not interested in a trade for Foles "at this point". What does that mean. To me that means Eagles havent put a package together they like. Jets arent having an easy time finding a trade partner for Revis -

My bet Revis and Foles get moved during the draft.

If the Eagles made a move with Cardinals (Palmer is not the answer in Arizona) that almost forces the Jets hand to make a trade for Foles - Foles with his head start in that wc offense and the fact he acutally has some of the kinks worked out from college - hast to be a big plus for them over whats left at qb. Dont get me wrong i think Manuel is the best qb in this draft and Philadelphia will get to see that probably end of this season on beginning of next.
