  • HOMOpener/GAYte reflections

Turned out to be gorgeous weather and a great first four innings.

Love the Phils GAYte vibe...way different thing than the Iggles...laid back surfer mentality compared to Iggles (NOT saying one is better than the other just different).

Fraudulent to have Joe Piscopo, D list celeb and Yank-offs fan throw out first pitch. Why was he even there? Schmidtty should have done it.

Never fail to love being in that ball park. Phils way outdid the Eagles in that respect. the Linc sucks. Flatout. Somebody had to say it.

Kendrick was fine until she stopped throwing strikes.

Speaking of strikes, please strike my comment about how much better the bullpen was going to be. The damage that was done yesterday with two outs was appalling.

Utley playing like a guy in a salary drive. I wonder if he would stay for three year deal?

Cannot fathom the Howard hate. Guy drives in runs. I'll take the strikeouts.

That triple that gave KC the lead took the air out of the entire place....but the Phils should have been up at least 7-0, not 4-0.

I love the tradition of the Phils marching down the street behind a brass band and into the centerfield GAYte...I hope Athens got there early enough to see that.

I think Cholly's a goner early if they dont get back into the race during this easier stretch of the schedule. I know its not all his fault, but they committed to these players for this year and they might just want to see what Sandberg can do.

    Will post pics later.

    BEACH DAY....get out there.

Good post. I got there right as they were announcing the lineups, so no Gayte for me. Opening Day is always a big party.

My issue with this Phillies team is they are supposed to be built on pitching, but their defense is just brutal. Michael Young may end up hitting .290, but he can't field for shit.

Bwon's play in left was horrible

...kind of negated that homer, didn't it?

For the life of me I cannot understand why Elmer played him in right all spring knowing he was going to try to have him play left as a regular when the season started.

PS - I obviously know you meant Brown, but am wondering if you are actually getting dyslexic as opposed to merely making a typo ... that's pretty wide off the mark.
