  • What does KG think of Flacco to play Johnny U

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...il.1st10.Daily

Not sure why, but I really enjoyed the two Unitas videos in that link. I didn't realize how athletic Johnny U was. Truly the birth of the modern quarterback.

One quick scene shows Unitas getting punched in the helmet while throwing a TD pass. A penalty and fine by today's standards. Maybe even suspension.

Not sure how good that movie is gonna be. I looked up Joe Unitas's IMDB page and he looks like a failed wannabe actor. Maybe he'll make a better producer of his passion project for the old man.

I'm a sucker for sports movies, even bad ones. Hope this one sees the light of day and isn't made like those Disney ones...but it probably will be.

btw - Flacco won't act. He'll just be the guy under the helmet during football sequences.

As Long As That's The Extent Of It, Fine

But if he's going to say anything other than, "X left, Y right, 32 blast pass on 2, on 2" -- fuhgeddaboudit.

The birth of the modern day QB arrived when Otto Graham joined Cleveland.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Unitas was 6'1". Flacco is 6'6". Perfect fit.

Glad they're throwing a bone to the Baltimore history of the team and Unitas rather than to the Colts history and have Manning play him.

Buddy Ryan would want Unitas' corpse out there.

I knew Captain Arbitrary would show up.

High School Harry could come up with a winning scheme for Johnny U's corpse. He'd blend him right into the locker room, play him some rap music and get his neurological pathways flowing again!

If Johnny's Unitas' son can handle the height difference I don't know how we can expect you to handle it.

I lived in Baltimore and saw Johnny Unitas play in person.

I once saw Unitas , while being knocked down by a D lineman, throw the ball underhanded towards the line of scrimmage, a Ref with his back to the line of scrimmage threw the flag for intentional grounding. Unbeknown to the Ref, TE John Mackey caught the ball and ran for a TD. This was before replay, and they penalized the Colts for intentional Grounding.

Payton Manning, had a lot of mannerism on the field in his Colts uniform, that reminded me of Unitas.
