The liberal news media jumps all over tragedies like this because that means they don't have to talk about job creation, job loss, and welfare exploitation for at least another month....I am sad when things like this happen, but there is a reason why...this current government isn't worried about creating jobs, just shelling out more welfare/creating debt. It's reached a point where you will see many lash out and do crazy things they wouldn't normally do because they have nothing so may as well make people who do have something suffer.

Is that what caused the Oklahoma City and Atlanta bombings?--

1) That's not Wolf Blitzer nor is it CNN - so your first statement against politicizing still is weak at best. But this wouldn't be the first time the goal posts are moved to make a point against the "liberal media".
2) There is going to be discussion over whether this could be domestic or foreign terrorism. Matthews decides to say that most domestic terrorism has been right-wing and/or anti-government. That's much closer to speculation although he's also addressing possibilities of why this happened and he goes on to discuss if anyone will take credit for it. So, while it's a better argument for you, it's still not very damning of the "liberal media"'s bias against right wingers unless you want it to be.
3) Most terrorism in the United States in the last 20-30 years has been domestically rooted. 9/11 was obviously not, but the majority of the mass shootings, the OKC bombing, the Atlanta bombing, the Unibomber, DC sniper, etc. were all perpetrated by home grown terrorists. While, given the lack of data available, this event could have been caused by any number of different people or groups, wondering if it's domestic terrorism is far from a huge speculative reach.Last edited by TerpEagle; 04-16-2013, 10:25 AM.--

just another example of the obvious
Bottom line is leftwing pundits and newscasters routinely speculate/postulate/outright blame the right when such tragedies occur. Rarely do similar figures on the right do the same to the left. The bias in these cases is blatant, regardless of your feeble attempts to argue otherwise."I could buy you." - The Village Idiot

Do you not see the irony?
You're doing exactly what you're bitching about. You started this entire discussion. You referenced conservative outlets that were complaining about politicizing the tragedy in their own ironic fashion.--

oh please
Youre just flailing now. Someone posted that the blame game had already begun. I pointed out that once again the left attempts to politicize the tragedy and insinuate the rights involvement.

End of story.
At least you admit that you posted something along the lines of politics and specific parties - even if it was erroneous and you had to change it later.--

Unless they have some sort of endowment to fund their operation, revenue is based on usage. They have performed their stated mission by reporting the news, whether they gain or lose page views for a given news story. Odds are, usage on most media sites went up yesterday and if they are paid with respect to usage versus other sites they probably profited little since most Gawker users probably went to Gawker, most Fox News users probably went to Fox News, etc.
The content of the article posted focuses on those who have attempted to make a profit off the tragedy through merchandising after it happened. Their goal isn't to educate like that of a news outlet. If Gawker Media starts shilling for "Remember Boston" t-shirts in order to make a profit I'll have a problem. If they're reporting on the events of the world I have no problem with it.Last edited by TerpEagle; 04-16-2013, 02:36 PM.--
