If I lived up there and was in the lockdown section I'd be feeling a lot safter knowing I was armed.
Read the 2nd Amendment again. Not sure if you can comprehend what it says, but read it anyway just for chuckles.

You watch too much TV. I wouldn't be sitting by the front door pointing a gun at it... sheesh!
If you're not sitting by the door pointing your gun at it what good is having a gun in the house going to do you anyway when the suspect busts in and points his at you?

not everyone lives in a single-room 10 x 10 ft apartment. You didn't answer my first question!

I'm willing to take the incredibly slim chance that Suspect 2 breaks into my house and shoots me over the much greater chance that a gun in my house accidentally causes injury or death.

I'd also add, I'm not against gun ownership on the whole but I don't really think having a hand gun or high-magazine rifle would increase my safety over a pump action shotgun or hunting rifle in that scenario all that much.

                      Shotgun is a better choice

Although I recently read an article where a guy tested various weapons from handguns to 30 cal "assault rifles" for wall penetration and surprisingly some of the handgun and shotgun ammo penetrated further than the typical 223 "assault rifle"

Ok, the majority of Democrats want to ban all guns. Is that better? If any of you ever met me you will see I'm the just an ordinary American who wants to protect his children. I'm not some crazed right wing nut.

See, what sane person would hope that a wanted suspect of a terror attack -quite likely armed, dangerous, desperate and impulsive - would break into his house?

Do you know how stupid that makes you sound? Seriously. Would you like your family and friends to be there too just so you can protect them and show off your rights/skills/manliness at the same time?

I hope you don't represent most gun owners - filled with bloodlust and some sort of twisted machismo.

No, you just want to face off with a terrorist. You're an average Joe.

I'm filled with bloodlust because a sister lost a brother. The sister lost a leg. And her mother has severe brain damage. If that doesn't get your blood boiling than nothing will. I hold you in just as much contempt as you hold me. You won't find a more responsible gun owner than myself. Fingerprint safe, gun safety classes..ect. Oh, and 26 years in the Air Force taught me a thing or two about gun safety!
