Here's how to report a story accurately: report the confirmed facts. When passing along unsubstantiated reports, state it is unconfirmed. Attribution for declarative factual statements.
It aint that difficult.
If you listened to WBZ you know it was textbook broadcast journalism. Fluid...keep repeating what is known and when new facts come in, report them when confirmed.
It is actually a much more compelling listen than ratings-driven alarmism.
