am I an idiot for still having no concerns that our Fightin's will at least be in the conversation in September?

They always seem to lose the home opener, get off to a pisspoor start (especially #6) have spotty pitching (save ,09) have difficulty playing for one run, etc etc. etc.

Summer is coming. I plan on enjoying Philly's beisbol team and I see nothing thus far to take me off that stance.

...if ever there was a time to fire him it was immediately following the suspended game- ass-kicked game doubleheader in Cincy.

I'd be shocked if they did it now, barring a double-digit games behind number. I think the majority of the owners realize the guy presided over that sellout streak. Ticket sales still matter in beisbol. Only manager to take em to two sttraight WS...dont see them pulling the trigger now. If they can win two more this weekend to take three of four from the cardinals I think he's absolutely safe for a while.

Tickets are why they'd shitcan him ... crowds are down already and if they go in to a bad tailspin, I can see him gone.

However, I doubt anything would get him fired before June.

I'm glad Doc has looked better but a 109 pitch count for 6 innings and change, with 59 strikes and 50 balls isn't what I'm looking for as a distribution.

Hopefully its an indication that he's still working out his new repertoire, but he has shit to throw effectively.
