  • More disinformation about the No.4 pick

Schefter told PFT that the Eagles are one of 5 teams wanting to trade down

Palantonio said don't be shocked if the Eagles select Tavon Austin with either the No.4 pick if they stay put or drop down and draft him. He says teams around the league are gearing for Kelly to draft Austin to make his high powered offense allegedly "terrifying."

Personally, if they trade down, the Fins could be the wildcard--the Chiefs want the Fins No.42 pick and the Fins want to give them the No.54. So, if one of the three big tackles are there at 4, if they don't trade for Albert, the Fins could give the Eagles 12, 54, and probably a 2014 4th round pick or this year's 4th rounder.

You know what would make the eagles offense "terrifying"?

Having enough healthy OL to block long enough for a WR to get open, a QB to set his feet, and a RB to find a lane.

Indeed totally agree. I just hope they don't put all their eggs in one basket and hope that their injured OL will come back totally healthy.

if tom gamble wasn't brought in i'd be more worried. Lurie can give Blowie all the public pump ups and kudo's he wants but you know these recent moves wouldn't have been done if Roseman was calling the shots.

even if it's a 'by committee' approach it's nice to have Gamble in there voicing his opinion. If i had to bet I'd say he is the guy they're gonna lean on for any tough decisions and tie breakers. Not Blowie.

there's an offensive lineman that will be there in the second round...terron armstead. pretty much regarded as the most athletic o-lineman in the draft.

he would fit what chip likes to do with his offensive line. a lot of movement. plus, howie longs kid will be there as well and he was pretty good this past year for chip...also very athletic.

need a bunch of quick guys that can move...not sure if Peters can move anymore...especially watching howard with his achilles injury in the past. ryan howard can barely move anymore...it's really a shame to watch.

also, i wouldn't be surprised if the eagles trade down. probably want to get an extra pick so they can draft a qb in the second round...or if they get two seconds...trade back up into the end of the first round if there is someone that they want.

            more athletic than Lane Johnson?

mcshay's newest 'mock' 5.1 has the three OT's going in top 4...dream team taking Johnson.
check out his video on this link. I would be totally fine with this. I usually hate taking an OL but after that train wreck last year and the reality of Peter's and Herreman's ages OT should be the 1st pick by the dream team without a 2nd thought. Gotta score to win these days and only way to do that is if the OL does its job.

I think it'll def be him or Fisher, whoever is left. Both appear to be perfect fits for what kelly wants his OL to be able to do:

                athletic
                in great shape
                great feet and can move
                versatile

it will definitely be 1 of those 2 guys. i don't think they'll get cute and try to trade back either. they'll stand pat and take a 10 year anchor. there's no way these 3 OT's make it out of the top 5. besides QB its the most valuable position on the field. the dream team has to take advantage of the opportunity to draft a franchise tackle.

                and they will.

                  Love your optimism here...

wish I shared it with you. Guess we're so brainwashed from the "us being smarter than you crowd" that you just know they could screw this up.

that's what i've read. i've never see him play because he went to a small school but from a couple different sites and then the pro football weekly book they all have this guy being the most athletic o-line guy. I would like Lane Johnson as well though...either way i would be happy.

the only thing that would bother me is drafting Geno Smith at 4...any of the other possible moves i would be okay with doing. Star, Dion, Lane, trading down to get Tavon or Mingo or Jarvis Jones and then using second round picks for a qb and then o-line. I would be fine with it.

I'm terrified just thinking about 1. Ignoring one of the worst defenses in the league. 2. Thinking that Vick somehow will not throws picks, fumble, get sacked because he cant find secondary receivers and not get injured during the National Anthem.

Tavon Austin in Chips offense would be amazing.

I have a half a chub just thinking about it...

I'm with you. The D was awful. I think the new pickups (Sopoaga, Barwin, Williams, Chung, Phillips) have to be better than what we had. I think another heavy weight in the middle needs to be addressed through the draft.

I don't like Vick. I hope that Foles is going to be the answer and that the rest are smoke screens.

                            I guess we'll find out.
