Bizarre. It was only the fourth obstacle. Just a jump into water. Maybe he caught something to the head on the way down. Seems kind of random.

      Yeah that's a shame

Pretty tame obstacle. The only one that I thought someone could get really hurt on was the one in Oct last year where you had to hop from log stump to stump sticking out of water. Some were really slick and you could see someone slipping and hitting their head on another stump. I cleaned that one btw

Maybe someone jumped in too soon after him and landed on this head?

          Maybe he just passed out.

Sounds like they didn't get him out fast enough.

The water is cold enough to suck the air out of you (even if its not in a dumpster full of ice cubes) but I've never heard of that happening. Maybe. Either way, that's awful.

My team went out at 8:00 am on Saturday morning and I will say that this was a rather tame obstacle and the water was not too cold. I will say the volunteers at the top of the Plank were a little overzealous when it came to getting people off the plank and did see one volunteer push a timid girl into the water but other than that the obstacle was pretty tame. From what I understand, the guy jumped in and someone jumped in after him and knocked him out and he ended up underwater for 4 to 5 minutes then they were able to rescusciate to him after 50 minutes but then he passed later on. Overall, I thought it was a great event, well run and never did I feel that anyone was in danger.
