  • Ravens offering a bucket of picks to move up

Per Sal Pal Ozzie Newsome wants to get Lane Johnson and will offer a lot to make it happen.

I know it sounds crazy to move from 4th overall to 32nd but at what point can the Eagles not afford to refuse?

If the Eagles got five picks from the Ravens, including the Ravens first two selections in 2013 and 2014 I would think the Eagles have to make the deal.

There are way too many players on this team that need to be replaced and the easiest way to do that is with young talent through the draft the next two seasons.

    No.

Ozzie will make Howie his bitch.

I can't see how the Ravens could make the jump. Even a 1st next year would be in the upper 20's.

I'm calling BS on the validity of this rumor. Sal Pal is an idiot.

Is Lane Johnson a top 5 pick?

If Lane Johnson is projected or rated after the 4th pick why would the Ravens be trade partners with the Eagles? They could give up less dealing with a team that is benneath the 4th Pick that may also want to trade back

KC and Jacksonville are most likely going to take Fisher and Joeckel (in whatever order). Then after the Eagles there's Detroit who desperately need a tackle so...yeah.

Detroit, Arizona, and Miami are three teams that need tackles. Detroit needs to rreplace BOTH of their tackles, Arizona needs someone to protect Palmer, and Miami needs someone to replace Long. Miami is looking to trade with KC, but KC wants the 42nd pick and Miami doesn't want to give that one up. If Baltimore wanted to trade to the 4th pick, they would need to give up their 1st, 2nd, and 4th this year, and their 1st, 2nd and 5th next year. It's a similar package to what Atlanta gave up when they moved from 29th to 8th to draft Julio Jones three years ago.

If Ozzie Newsome is willing to exchange a load of picks to move up, it should tell you all you need to know about Lane Johnson. Yeah, we have lots of holes, but if you have the opportunity to fill one with a potential perennial pro-bowler you do it.

                Ozzie Newsome >>> Howie Roseman

                  No way

Sal Pal couldn't find a horse at Preakness, nevermind any rumors regarding the Ravens.

                    You got that right.

If Newsome wants to move up and you know who he's doing it for ... take that guy.

The Ravens are in a much better position than the Eagles though. One player could probably help them a lot more than it could the Eagles right now.

Yeah, this is the key difference. Lane Johnson is still only one player. If the Eagles can deal him for another first round selection next season, the 32nd pick this season, two second rounders and one or two additional picks it changes the Eagles draft options for years to come. I really think this new regime can benefit from approaching each draft the next three years from a position of strength more than adding one highly-talented OT.

                              I agree with this ^^^^^^^^^^^

One player elite or not aren't going to be much of a impact for the Eagles. They need talent across the board this draft and next yrs draft.

The Ravens are probably just plugging a draft pick on a already talented team. But that would be a sweet deal if they trade up with the Eagles which I highly doubt it will happen. Just a bunch of smokescreens imo.
