UPDATE (and thanks everybody for your kind words & thoughts today)
__________________________________________________ ___________
Candon's journal, 1 p.m.: Candon's neurologist just gave us an update. The only remaining tissue is in the back of the head. Some of the tissue was abnormal, however this is good news, as they expect it to be for RE. Yay! He also said Candon is doing very very well, and surgery should be wrapping up within about 2 to 3 hours and we will then see him about an hour after that! AMAZING!! We never expected to see him anywhere close to prior to 6pm. Some kids do not remain intubated, but are of course still kept sedated for a few days. By about a day and a half they will start to roll him over and raise the bed. Our uphill journey is about to begin! Please keep those power of positive thoughts and prayers coming! They are working!!!!!Last edited by Ellsworth; 04-25-2013, 01:37 PM.

This might help the family...
As hard as it might to believe with such a rare disease friends of ours daughter had the same procedure a few years ago. Her father became very active and started a blog about their journey and a group to support families. The link of the group is below.

he's out of surgery and it went very well. he'll be sedated for a couple of days and then the long road to recovery begins.
my wife said facebook is blowing up, people from all over the country have his shirts on that they made/sold and posting them. Or, just wearing red to show their support.
IDK how to get you a 'link' or if you can 'search' stuff on 'facebook' since i don't have an account but Candon's Cure might pull it up.
