I think the current staff has taken some steps to improve their D. Here's the new DBs

LCB Fletcher, Bradley U/SL
SS Chung, Patrick U/NE
FS Phillips, Kenny U/NYG
RCB Williams, Cary U/Bal

I think they have the potential to be much improved over last year's staff.

As far as the front 7? I don't have a good feel for that, but yeah, we could address that.

My point is just that there have already been steps taken, so I don't think Kelly is ignoring the defense. Given that, I assume he will be drafting some defensive players.
