  • Last night I finally accepted the Eagle's undoing

Was trading out of the first round and drafting Kevin Kolb.

They needed so much help on D that year, particularly safety. They should have moved up to take one, but all the top prospects were gone. I get that.

But not only did they address no positions of need by going QB, chump DE with their first two pics, they mind fucked McNabb into mediocrity.

Should have re-signed Garcia and did whatever it took to get safety help. Both positions have never been the same.

I really thought Kolb was going to work out. I thought he'd work out for the Crudnals too.

That was a shitty day. If it weren't for my first Schmitter at the Phils game, it would have been the worst.

That was the "We're smarter than everyone else" move di tutti "We're smarter than everyone else" moves.

At least we didn't get one of those with Kelly's first selection.

          Think Again

This is just as bad -- Chip Kelly announcing to the world, "Improve the defense? I don't NEED no steekin' defense!"

          Andy Reid II.
"If I owned Texas and Hell, I'd rent out Texas and live in Hell!"

              Reid Was An Offensive Coach

Reid helped his offense when he picked Kolb (or at least that's what he told the world).

Kelly is an offensive head coach -- up tempo, no huddle, rah-rah college boys-type coach -- he drafts an offensive tackle instead of helping a defense that sucked swamp water 110-times over last season.

              Andy Reid II.

Andy Reid spent tons of high draft choices on defensive players. Or don't you remember Cox, Kendricks, Curry, Abiamiri, Laws, Jarrett, Patterson, Bunkley ad nauseum. At this point, you are just being an attention whore and an idiot.

Too many smarter than you picks over the past ten years.

Nothing cute last night. They just took a guy that should be around for a long time. Love it.

The Subject Of The Thread Was Kevin Kolb!

The reply was directed to the Kolb pick and how Kelly was no different.

The subject of your two posts was failure by Kelly or Reid to improve the defense by drafting defenders with high draft choices.

I'm sorry, but I can only understand the English language as it was taught to me. If you learned it differently in the hollows of hillbilly Pennsyltucky, don't blame me. Illiterate.

They need to keep Vick off of his back

And got a big, nasty, and fast offensive tackle to help do it. How can you be disappointed with this move, especially when they can adress a glaring need by taking Cyprien today ?

Let's look back at the Eagles draft history and see if drafting defense helped them?

2012 - 1st DT, Fletcher Cox. 2nd ILB, Mychal Kendricks, 2nd DE, Vinny Curry
2011 - 1st OL, Danny Watkin, 2nd DB, Jaiquawn Jarret, 3rd CB, Curtis Marsh
2010 - 1st DE, Brandon Graham, 2nd DB, Nate Allen, 3rd DE, Daniel Te'o Neishem

So in the last 3 years, the first 3 picks of each year has been all defense except 1, the fireman. How was our defense the last 3 years? STINK!

You don't pick for need at 4, you pick BPA. When need and BPA meet like this, it's a fucking gift. Quit bitching, KG.

The defense was bad for a multitude of reasons. Drafting an inferior player just because he's a defensive player is a Reid move.

I"d like to see if they can't trade back 10 picks or so in Rd 2 and pick up another 3rd rounder or early 4th.
